Protein Power Balls

One of the most healthy and filling snacks is the Protein Power Balls. These are almost instant and easy to make and all natural. They contain amazing nutrition benefits with healthy fats and protein.

I prefer the following seeds in the preparation of these balls:

  • Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds
  • Sprouted Sunflower Seeds
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Overnight soaked, slow roasted sesame seeds
Why I do not use nuts? Since they contain phytic acid, and it is not good to eat raw nuts. It is better to soak nuts overnight before eating them.

Why I use sprouted seeds? Even seeds have phytic acid, sprouting makes the nutrients in the seeds more bioavailable and easy to digest.

Why did I use raw Hemp seeds? Since hemp is the most easily digestible seeds and does not need soaking.

Why did I soak overnight and slow roast sesame seeds? For any other seeds, this is the process I follow apart from the above three. It is just an example.

I get the organic sprouted pumpkin and sunflower seeds from Whole Foods.

I use the following as sweeteners in the preparation of power balls:
  • Dried Organic Mulberries
  • Organic Dates
  • Dried Organic Figs
  • Organic unsulphured Raisins
  • Organic Unsulphured Jaggery
  • Organic Dried Apricots
  • Organic Raw Honey
Below are the flavors I use:
  • Cardamom
  • Cinnamon
I sometimes add ghee, if I do not want to blend them too softly. Else the oil is produced from seeds itself.

You can chose any combination of the seeds + sweetener + flavor or a mix of some of them to prepare the power balls.
