About me

I am a simple wife and mom who wants to do things right and trying to find direction in life. This is my attempt at giving back to the online community as I learned a lot from the internet, especially from those who write blogs about their quality lifestyle and how they overcome obstructions.

I am from India and live in USA. Its been a decade here from my masters. Having seen both worlds, I consider myself lucky to have witnessed two different cultures and gets to choose from both.

To describe myself a year back, I was lazy with no physical activity whatsoever and always ate unhealthy food or rather never cared about food. I would like to elaborate on food stuff a bit, I ate the 1 dollar chicken burger for a complete year daily. For my 30th birthday, when my husband asked me what I want, I asked him to take to all fast food joints, so I can eat what I liked in each one, like tortilla salsa at one place, cake in another, pie, onion rings, etc.

To describe myself now, just opposite. Trying to turn things around and am surprised to find that I do not know a lot of things in life which are basically pretty basic. In the process, I am grateful to all the bloggers who document their life for others to learn. That is my inspiration to start this blog and also for myself to get organized.

Apart from how unhealthy or how lazy I am, about myself personally I have a loving caring husband and a wonderful daughter. They are my main motivation to work on healthy lifestyle relentlessly.

Protein Power Balls

One of the most healthy and filling snacks is the Protein Power Balls. These are almost instant and easy to make and all natural. They contain amazing nutrition benefits with healthy fats and protein. I prefer the following seeds in the preparation of these balls: Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds  Sprouted Sunflower Seeds Hemp Seeds Overnight soaked, slow roasted sesame seeds  Why I do not use nuts? Since they contain phytic acid, and it is not good to eat raw nuts. It is better to soak nuts overnight before eating them. Why I use sprouted seeds? Even seeds have phytic acid, sprouting makes the nutrients in the seeds more bioavailable and easy to digest.  Why did I use raw Hemp seeds? Since hemp is the most easily digestible seeds and does not need soaking. Why did I soak overnight and slow roast sesame seeds? For any other seeds, this is the process I follow apart from the above three. It is just an example. I get the organic sprouted pumpkin and sunflow...
